Privacy notice
Your bill still stays on your phone.
We measure anonymous page and button totals so we can see whether the calculator and installer directory are useful. We do not send your bill, contact details or calculator figures to an installer.
The short version
The calculation happens on your device. Analytics contains no name, phone number, email, account number, service address or uploaded bill.
What stays on your device
The bill file and account details never leave the browser.
If you choose a JPS Jamaica PDF, the browser reads it locally. The file is not uploaded to Jamaica Solar Check, an analytics service or an installer. Run the solar check without sending us the bill.
Your electricity usage, bill amount, account number, service address and detailed calculator result are not included in analytics. The installer shortlist is stored only in the current browser session and disappears when that session is cleared.
Anonymous measurement
We count visits and useful actions.
We use Umami Analytics to understand which pages are visited and where people get stuck. Umami does not use tracking cookies and does not identify people across websites.
Calculator progress
Starts, steps reached and exits before completion. Completed checks include parish, chosen package and a broad system-size band. We do not send the bill amount or exact result.
Directory actions
Whether the directory was opened, which company was shortlisted, which contact button was clicked and its position on the page.
What is excluded
Name, email, phone, WhatsApp number, full address, JPS account details, bill file and free-text messages.
Guide interactions are counted too. We record choices such as battery size, inverter category and AC usage preset to understand which tools help. AC room measurements, entered equipment ratings and bill details are excluded. Page URL query strings and fragments are excluded from tracking.
Contacting a company
You decide when an installer hears from you.
Ticking an installer only creates a private shortlist in your browser. It does not notify the company. See how the directory works.
If you press a website, telephone, email or WhatsApp button, the chosen service opens and its own privacy practices apply. Jamaica Solar Check records only the anonymous fact that the button was clicked; it does not receive the message or call.
If we later offer a quotation form, it will name every company before submission and require a separate, unticked consent choice. This notice will be updated before that feature goes live.
Who processes anonymous data
Umami and the service that hosts the site.
Umami Cloud processes anonymous visit and event information on our behalf. See Umami’s privacy policy for information about its handling of data.
Cloudflare delivers the website and may process ordinary security and server-log information needed to operate it.
We do not sell analytics information, use it for advertising profiles or add calculator visitors to marketing lists.
Retention and control
Anonymous analytics is kept for no longer than twelve months.
We use aggregate trends rather than long-term visitor histories and remove analytics that is no longer needed. You can block the analytics script using browser privacy controls without affecting the calculator.
If you believe information relating to you has been processed, you may ask what we hold, request correction or deletion, object to processing, or withdraw consent where consent applies.
